We watched the beginning of the Victoria Day Parade as we
had breakfast and then decided we would walk part of the parade route. Turns out we walked the entire parade route.
A very sweet parade; a hometown feeling with local companies and various local
groups. We were surprised at the number
of marching bands from Washington State.
I wonder if the Canadians will go to Washington State next weekend when
we celebrate Memorial Day?
We then walked along part of the Galloping Goose Trail. The Galloping Goose was originally a freight
railway line built during the First World War. It is part of the Trans Canada
Trail, a national multi-use trail system linking trails from coast to coast.
The day was topped off with a lovely dinner at Clive’s
Classic Lounge.
Because of the length of the parade, it is a qualifier for the Rose Bowl parade. Seems like a lovely way to spend Victoria day to me.
